Replace the hardware of a DL380 G3 with a DL380 G4
Is there any documentation available to upgrade the hardware from a G3 to G4 without losing data. My current configuration is 2 drives mirrored and the other 4 drives RAID 5.

Re: Replace the hardware of a DL380 G3 with a DL380 G4
Hello Robert,
If the drives are coming from a Smart Array controller and going to a Smart Array controller, you can simply swap the drives and it will come back up.
You may run into issues with the O/S and drivers, but if it's running 2003, it's usually pretty good.
But simply, for swapping drives, yes the data will stay intact.
