Replaced drive won't rebuild
I have a Proliant 2500 with an external U1 starage system with 4-4.3Gb harddrives in a RAID 5 config. 1 drive was going bad and got replaced, now you watch and it accesses drive and shows all the normal indications of preparing to rebuild then after a few minutes all the lights on the replaced drive go out. I check status and get event ID-3 "waiting to rebuild". Telling system to rebuild at boot, in OS or through insight manager result in the same event and no rebuild. I have tried 4 known good identicle drives but to no avail. Could Smart-2 Array card be the issue? The external U1 starage device? I'm not any kind of guru and this task was passed to me to resolve so any help will be most appreciated!!!
Thanx,
RODD
