Replacing 18.2GB Hard Drive -- NOT THE SAME SIZE!

I'm replacing an 18.2GB Hard Drive on a mirror set. The old HD Failed and now the new HD is not the same size so I can not remirror.

Is there a Utility that I can use to make the existing HD smaller so That I can remirror this HD... One solution that I can think-off is to create a new partition on the new HD and then backup and restore the existing HD onto the new... then delete the existing partion and remirror.... Is there a better Answer?

Please help!

while you can use a LARGER drive than the mirror you cannot use a smaller one...your only choice if you dont have another drive the same size or larger is to back up your data..destroy the mirror and then recreate it across the two drives you have (which will be smaller based on the new drive size) then restore your data...verify first though that your data will fit across the new mirror...
