Replacing DL380G5 bad drive

DL380-G5 Compaq Proliant DL380 Server G5 S349x002 – has 2 bad drives,  running raid 5 with a p400 controller.

We lost 2 drives in the array and replaced  the 2 drives with known working drives but only one drive in the array will attach and show a green led. The other remains black no lights at all.  Even with another drive it still remains black with no status lights.

Could this be the drive backplane? or something else.

Is the drive also not seen in ACU or in POST?

Re: Replacing DL380G5 bad drive

hi,

It can be backplane or controller or cable. It can be a FW issue also. If this drive is configure as spare, it's normal, that the led remains off. Can you please attach an ACU report.

Thanks
