Replacing QLOGIC FC card
Hi,
I have a DL380 G4 with two QLOGIC FC cards for connectivity to a StorageWorks 2/8q Fiber Channel Switch, for accessing the MSA 1000 Datastore.
The problem is that one of the QLOGIC FC card of Proliant server is faulty.
I've just bought one to replace, and phisically has been replaced.
But don't know how to do this new QLOGIC adapter being recognised by the StorageWorks 2/8q and the MSA1000.
When I open HP Array Configuration Utility, I still see the old QLOGIC card.
Thanks

Re: Replacing QLOGIC FC card
If the Fc switch is configured for WWN zoning, you need to adjust it.
But first go into the ACU and check the SSP (selective storage presentation).
Is the new adapter listed there? Assign the approriate LUNs to this adapter.
Hope this helps!
Regards
Torsten.

Re: Replacing QLOGIC FC card
Hi,
The problem is that I don't see the new adaptet in SSP.
I've just pluged the network cable for one of the FC switches to try to log on, but don't have the IP for managing.
Just I'm trying to get the information, but the previous Administrator didn't use to have documentation about.
Any ideas how to get it?
Thanks,

Re: Replacing QLOGIC FC card
Hi,
I've just got the IP and connected to the switch via Telnet.
How could I know if is configured for WWN zoning?
Thanks,

Re: Replacing QLOGIC FC card
Try "zoneshow" via telnet.
Or go into zoneadmin:
Hope this helps!
Regards
Torsten.

Re: Replacing QLOGIC FC card
Try to find a manual that meets your OS version:
http://h20565.www2.hp.com/portal/site/hpsc/template.PAGE/public/psi/manualsResults/?sp4ts.oid=315122&spf_p.tpst=psiContentResults&spf_p.prp_psiContentResults=wsrp-navigationalState%3Daction%253Dmanualslist%257Cviewall%253Dtrue%257Clang%253Den&javax.portlet.begCacheTok=com.vignette.cachetoken&javax.portlet.endCacheTok=com.vignette.cachetoken
I assumed the switch is a brocade, but I think it is a qlogic.
Try
zone list
zoneset list
zoning active
zoning list
Hope this helps!
Regards
Torsten.

Re: Replacing QLOGIC FC card
With "zone list" says is empty.
Still don't see replaced card.
Should I do any other steps?
Sorry to disturb you.
Thanks
