Replacing SAS P410i with a LSI HBA type controller
I have a 16 x HDD Proliant DL380 G7 that I am upgrading.
So I need to provide direct I/O to my disks for ZFS and that seems not possible with P410i. The disks are only detectable as RAID Storage units and not otherwise, and I dont think making 16 RAID 0 drives is a solution, rather the contrary.
Below are images of the card, the backplane and the connectors to the motherboard.
LSI 93008i 8 Port 12Gbs SAS Host Bus Adapter :
If someone can check what I need to do that, or perhaps suggest another HBA card for this?
The cables are different, the connections do not seem to be the same, what do i connect to the Motherboard and what goes to the backplane? It is a bit confusing as is.

Re: Replacing SAS P410i with a LSI HBA type controller
So I realized what I thought was the SAS card is not. It is a SAS expander.
Do I need that with another, newer, card/chipset?

Hi richardainz,
Use the supported controller as per the server quick specs and the spare part documents below
