Replacing a smart array431

Hi,
The existing Smart Array 431 controller card in my DL380(G1) is faulty.
I need to replace this with the same 431 controller. What is the procedure to do this?
Any configurations to be backed up before starting this procedure???

Hi,

Replace the controller the raid information is stored in HDD no issues. 100% assurance no problems.

u must check for the firmware update before u replace the smart arry controller.

I just replaced it as per your suggestion with a full backup in hand. Everything works fine. Thanks for your help.
