Hello,

Simple problem: staff member has left, taking the password for the RAID controller with him. Is there a way to reset/remove the password?

You should be able to do that with either ACU (Array Configuration Utility) or one of the tools which comes with it.

E.g. if your OS is Linux then the password resetting utility is hphmmopasswd that is located in /opt/compaq/cpqacuxe/bld.

...and if your ProLiant Support Pack is version 7.1 or later it uses OS authentication and has the administrator group authorized by default.

We are using Windows 2003 and I could findno trace of the utility you specified, Raadek. I did run the Clear Configuration option, though (as this server is being rebuilt from scratch anyway), but this only seemed to reset the stripes to a RAID-5; the password is still there. Unless it has a reset to a default password?
