Reset of Management controller - Blade Chassis

I need to reset the management controller on a Blade Chassis (enhanced).

I have it in my head that doing this does not affect any blades that are running within that system. Can someone confirm this ?

Reason for resetting, is I just added a second chassis, and when I accessed Ilo from both chassis, they complained about a possible invalid topology. Resetting the controller on the new chassis has made the existing chasis stop complaining. I'm assuming I need to reset the existing controller now to stop the new one from complaining.

Both are at FW rev 2.1 all Ilo's are at 1.64.

Thanks

Hi, Since Management modules are hot plugable, you could remove and reinsert them. If possible also upgrade ilos to 1.70

Thanks,

Resetting the Management controller resolved the issue.

How does one reset the management controller? Can it be done remotely?

Re: Reset of Management controller - Blade Chassis

I always ask questions before I have the chance to read every manual. I see now that there's a reset button on each management module.

Too bad this can't be done remotely, even over the reserved-to-HP management port. (Which looks like it could usefully be connected to a serial console server.)
