Restart Instead of Shut Down (DL380 G2)

I recently put a couple of DL380 G2s into service. (Had some G1s and 1600Rs previously)

At first, we thought we had made a mistake, but seemed to have confirmed that when we attempt to do a shutdown/restart via Remote Desktop, the computer appears to just go into a shutdown (we get a message 'It is now safe to turn of the computer' at the KVM console.

Is there some sort of setting somewhere that changes what we figure would be normal operation?

Thanks.

Re: Restart Instead of Shut Down (DL380 G2)

You can check if auto power on is enable on RBSU by pressing F9 during POST (When prompted)

Off course, you'll have to be onsite or do it by using iLO..

Re: Restart Instead of Shut Down (DL380 G2)

Hi John,

If you get 'it's now safe...' msg on remote desktop, it means your server has been detected as non-acpi system. pls check at on-site or through iLO that you can restart your server directly. If not, there is some setting problem in BIOS , or OS is not able to detect that it is a ACPI system.
