Resume power on ML370 G2
Can you set the server to restart after a APC 1500 smart start UPS does a controlled shutdown on a Proliant ML 370 G2. This can be set on a ML 370 G3 via the ILO management console, not in the BIOS, however the G2 does not have the ILO option. According to APC's website they say that the BIOS needs to be set so that the power state is left in "Last State", meaning that as soon as the power to the UPS is restored then this will trigger the server to restart !!
Does anyone know if this can be done ?
Thanks in advance for any info

Re: Resume power on ML370 G2
Colin,
There I don't believe there is a setting in the BIOS; the power management software should take care of it. I am not sure about APC, but i have used a HP UPS with HP rack and power manager and when the software initiates a graceful shutdown the server shuts down to a non ACPI mode, where it indicates "Its not safe to turn off your computer", it stays at that screen till the power to the segment is cut and when the power to the segment is restored the server comes up!. If you are using Windows 2003 there may be an issue ├в

Re: Resume power on ML370 G2
Yes we are using Win 2003, when the server shuts down, the only way back to power on is via the power switch
