Riloe II remote console ctrl-alt-del does not work

I have a dl350G3 with a riloe II installed.
OS is 2k sp4
Firmware is 1.21
Board driver is 3.5
host keyboard is disabled

problem is the ctrl-alt-del button does not work - reboots do not fix the problem.

any help much appreciated.

Re: Riloe II remote console ctrl-alt-del does not work

It is possible to force Windows to recognize a keyboard by the use of a registry key and parameters that are used for hotplug support of a keyboard. I have tried these on a server in the lab and did not see any adverse affect on the performance of the machine. We probably want to look at this registry entry anyway just to verify that all the values that should be there are in fact there.

the registry value -- headless -- needs to be added under the key below for enabling "hotplugging" capability to the operating system:

Key: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\i8042prt\Parameters
Value: Headless
Type: REG_DWORD
Data: 0x1 (Allow hotplugging a PS/2-style keyboard. To disable this feature, set the data value to 0.)
