Rolling back RAID 5 using 2 from 3 drives
I have a Smart Array 5300 Controller (5304-128) and have upsized the three drives in a RAID 5 array. I redeployed one of the three drives that I removed, and set the other two aside. Due to data loss (incomplete backup) I now badly need to restore the original array and its contents, using just these two drives. Can this be done, and if so how do I proceed?
P.S. This thread has been moved from Disk to ProLiant Servers (ML,DL,SL). -HP Forum Moderator

Re: Rolling back RAID 5 using 2 from 3 drives
RAID 5 offers the possibility of losing just one disc, if two disks RAID 5 created before is intact, just replaced your third album and reconstructions will be made.
if one of the disks in the RAID 5 has undergone change, then there are no more chance of any data recovered.
