S1324 Monitored PDU PWFlash failure

Using the PWflash utility to upgrade the firmware to 7.0 on an S1324 PDU worked per the instructions until the verification part. I received a NACK error, which left the PDU display with a "U". The firmware version is reported as 0.0 now as well. Is there a solution for this? (Updating firmware successfully/taking the PDU out of upgrade mode). A power reset is not feasable as many mission critical servers are running...

Hi, there is a RESET button next to the COM port. Try pressing it for 5 seconds to reset the PDU. THIS WILL NOT POWER OFF THE PDU NOR WILL CAUSE THE SERVERS TO CRASH. I just did that in our lab and all servers KEPT working normally.

After researching a bit more on this found that sometimes the management module does not operate after a firmware upgrade. Perhaps you forgot to place the management module in Service Upgrade Mode.

To resolve it try the following:

1. Place the management module in Service Upgrade mode.
2. Perform a service upgrade.

No, the PDUs are still displaying "U" (are in upgrade mode) even after resets.

So did you try re-flashing the BIOS?

Yes, re-flashing the BIOS fails as it did before...
