SA 3200 controller on Proliant 5500

I recently had a Smart 3200 controller go bad on a Proliant 5500. I replaced it with another 3200 controller since it was supposed to be able to pick up the array config but it did not pick up the RAID array settings from the disks. I removed the disks and ran system erase to delete the config on the replacement controller, then put the disks back in, but it still does not recapture the array configuration. Does anyone have a suggestion? I really don't want to erase the whole system. Thanks much.

Re: SA 3200 controller on Proliant 5500

Hi!
Try to remove one disk at a time. First take out disk 1 and then power on. If the SA find yours Logical Drives then everything is fine and you can let the system to come up. After that you can put in the disk 1 again. It will be starting to rebuild now.
If the SA dont find any disks, power off the server and then put disk 1 in the server and take out disk 2 and power on.
Start the procedure above again.

Good luck
