SA 5302 in a Proliant 6000

Will a SA 5302 work in a Proliant 6000? We had a SA 3150ES card die on us recently and need to get a replacement. 3150ES are hard to find so we are looking at getting a SA 5302 instead. I know the Proliant 6000 has 64-bit PCI slots but are they 66 Mhz or 33 Mhz? If they are 33 Mhz will the SA 5302 work at 33 Mhz?

Re: SA 5302 in a Proliant 6000

The Proliant 6000 slots 2-6 are all 64-bit/33 MHz PCI slots. The one shared PCI/ISA is 32-bit/33 Mhz. No compatibility information found on the SA302 with older systems such as the Proliant 6000.

Does this mean HP does not support it?

Re: SA 5302 in a Proliant 6000

Correct, the SA5302 would not be supported by HP in the Proliant 6000. To see the Smart Array controllers that were supported, look at the PL 6000 TechSpecs:

http://h18004.www1.hp.com/products/quickspecs/10542_div/10542_div.html#Storage

Here you will see the following SA controllers listed:
4250ES
4200
3200
3100ES

So you can certainly try - but it's not an HP-supported solution.
