SA 642 volume build

Hi, first of all I must say I'm completely new to proliants and smartarrays.
Today I've installed a smartarray 642 inside an ml370 g3 and I've entered ORCA to configure it. I've chosen to build a 0+1 volume over 4 73gb drives, and the utility said there was a 140gb volume and no more space left. Everything right, it seems.
I've used various raid controllers from highpoint and adaptec, in the past, and I've always had some parameters to configure (e.g. stripe size) and I've always had to wait some hours for the volume to be built. None of these things happened today.
Am I missing something or is this normal and I can happily go on partitioning that volume and filling it with (others') precious data?
unless your coffee machine isn't connected to an ups, you are still ok!

Replying to myself about stripe size options:
I've read that ORCA has only a small subset of options, so things like stripe size can only be set with smart start CD's raid configuration utility. Sadly, the CD sold with my Proliant doesn't recognize the SmartArray, making me think that I must download a newer one (the SmartArray is seen properly by the Compaq BIOS and by the Knoppix cd I use for tests)...
