Re: SA6404 and MSA20 batteries.
what firmware are you running on the sa6404 and the MSA20? I believe there are firmware upgrades that help with battery problems.
Yes, see the fix in 2.08
"Fixed battery initialization issue.":

If you're on a good firmware, maybe a power cycle is needed :/

Re: SA6404 and MSA20 batteries.
I don't remember anymore how long it takes but 3 days seems a bit excessive to me.

Re: SA6404 and MSA20 batteries.
Both the SA6400 and the MSA20 got 2 batteries each.
Lets take the MSA20 first.
It got a display on the back.
F1 = Lower Battery. 349799-001
F2 = Upper Battery. 307132-001
F3 = Both
Battery 0 = lower. (is on the cache module).
Battery 1 = upper. (is abaove the Cache module).
You can connect to the seraial port on back of the I/O module (See maintanance manual for details)
Show batteries (Show battery health)
Show Cache (Show cache state)
Turn off batteries (Recommended to do so before replacement).
349799-001 is usable for all 4 batteries.
The 6400, I don't have that much information, you might be able to see wivh battery has failed in the ADU, or through the system management homepage.
