SAS HBA for DL380 G7 connecting to Dell Powervault TL2000

Hi

I have inherited a Dell Powervault TL2000 tape library and need to get it working with an existing HP DL380G7. Server OS is 2012.

After advice regarding what SAS HBA card to purchase for the DL 380 G7 to connect the two. The Dell documentation only recommends Dell SAS HBA's so trying to workout the best HP equivalent to see the library.. The library is a mini SAS connector.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

Re: SAS HBA for DL380 G7 connecting to Dell Powervault TL2000

Since this library is more or less identical with HPE MSL 2024 I would lookup the MSL2024 quickspec for a recommended HBA.

The quickspec points to

http://www8.hp.com/us/en/products/data-storage/BURA-compatibility.html

then to

http://h20566.www2.hpe.com/hpsc/doc/public/display?sp4ts.oid=412183&docId=emr_na-c04616269&docLocale=en_US

page 62 tells about current servers.

But the DL380G7 quickspec suggest the

HP Smart Array P212/ZM 1-ports Int/1-ports Ext PCIe x8 SAS Controller
462828-B21

controller.

In HPE Smart Array Controller P212 the MSL appears as an option, if you use a AN975A 1-to-4 fan-out cable.

Hope this helps!
Regards
Torsten.
