SATA II Drives in my DL360

I have just purchased a DL360 G4 2P SATA AP Server, Dual 3.4GHz less hard drives. Am I able to put SATA II drives in or should I purchase standard SATA drives?

it will work - but sata controller in dl360g4 is sata1 so even if You install new drives they will work 1,5gb/sec only.
i dont know if You can buy sata2 drives from HP

Yes You have to buy drives from HP...;-)
but serious you can try to install non hp drives but You will must replace disk frame.

Thats ok as I ordered two Hot Swap SATA drive caddies from the States yesterday, I was just looking for the best possible drives to suite. Cant complain as the server is brand new still boxed with 8GB memory, and I only paid $800AUD.

The server nor its optional SAS/SATA Smart Array controller handle SATA II Drives, so the ones you bought will work at normal SATA Speed.
