SATA MDL 250 DB on ML310 G5

I have a ML310 G5 with the firmware W05. When I insert a SATA HD MDL 250GB the HD is not recognized. Wenn I insert the Serial ATA 250GB the HD is recognized.
Is the MDL HD fault?
