SBS 2003 on Proliant ML 350

I have a Proliant Ml 350 and i buyed microsoft small business server 2003. i have smartstartCd 6.4B and an smart array controller 642. i have four disks and i want to create 2 drives. each drive with 2 disks raid 1.

the smartstartCD doesn't take in charge the sbs 2003. it takes only windows 2003 server. so i should install it manually. is there any one that knows the steps that i should do. I want to use the array controller 642 as boot.

Did you try the install? I'm surprised if it won't work, after all SBS 2003 is based on W2K3.

Choosing Windows 2003 server from SmartStart 6.4 should work but if you what to do a manual install:

- Select the OS in RBSU
- Set the boot controller in RBSU
- Configure Array using the smart start or the rom based setup of the controller.
- Boot off the os cd, hit F6 to specify the controller driver. It can be found @

- After the install run the ProLiant support pack for windows 2003.

well, when i choose Windows 2003 from the smartstartCD 6.4, it goes and i inser the disk 1 from SBS package. it installs the disk 1 and it reboots and this is the End and it doesn't ask to continue the installation of the rest of disks. if so, how can i continue to install the other disks of SBS 2003 ?

SBS 2003 apparently comes in DVD format. Have you tried installing from that? I would appreciate it if you could let me know, as it is something I am looking at doing.

SBS 2003 in my case didn't come in DVD. it comes in 6 CDs and all these CDs must be installed on the same machine.
