SC11Xe Host Bus Adapter

ML310G5 or ML385G5 Servers will not recognize the card.

Any tricks to see if this card is working properly?

Re: SC11Xe Host Bus Adapter

Is it supported on those servers? Do you need to upgrade firmware and option rom to see the adapter? Do you have the correct version of the OS that is supported on those servers?

Re: SC11Xe Host Bus Adapter

On the ML310 G5 it is supported anyway:

http://h18000.www1.hp.com/products/servers/proliantstorage/adapters/sc11xe/index.html

The SC11Xe is a PCI-Express card and the ML310 G5 has these:

(1) PCI Express x8, (3) PCI Express x1

Did you try both?

Re: SC11Xe Host Bus Adapter

I have checked and see that the card is supported on both servers.

I have tried all of the available slots on both servers and I am not getting any BIOS related activity from the card during the POST.

I am thinking that the card is toasted - but it has been installed but never used in the original ML310G5 Server.

I have not pulled the RAID controller on the ML385G5 - but that should not make a difference as this card is designed to co-exist as a SCSI controller for external tape drives.

If it does not post. Put it in a workstation and see if it works.
