SCSI 1702 error

Proliant ML370.

I'm trying to setup a external tape drive.

I have a smart array 3200 controller in slot 1, A compaq integrated Ultra2 Scsi Controller.

how would I go about making sure I do not recieve this error again

Hi Brian :


make sure that you don't have two cables connected to the same channel on the array or scsi controller.

this error means you have two devices connected to same channel. bent pin on the scsi cable, bad terminations. disconnect the tape drive and see if the error goes away.
