SCSI Controllers problem
we have DL 380 G6 server it has 2 SCSI cards 410i (internal) and 411(external slot 2) currently all sas sff drives are connected with 410i as it is showing array cofiguration utility. Can we remove the external scsi controller,it has an attached battry with it by a cable. We want to use it with another server. Would it create problem for us to remove the external SCSI controller card. will the data be remain safe or is there a chance of data loss?

Re: SCSI Controllers problem
Is an OS installed on it already?
You may have to change boot order in BIOS but that should be it :)

Re: SCSI Controllers problem
You always risk data loss moving drives and a controller. So backup. It should work moving the controller and drives to the new server. Install the drivers for the controller on the new server OS before moving them. Once you move the controller and drives it will find the drivers and install them. You might need to import the foriegn partition into the new OS.
