SCSI drives don4t spin up!??!

I don?t know what?s wrong with my scsi drives. They are in that hot plug backplane cage. I have 5X 2,1 GB UW SCSI by Seagate. They were working fine, until rebooting. I always received those message spinning up HD but now i only get an error message, with device failed.

Hope you have an answer!?

Does it give an ID error or No logical found?
Have you tried a new scsi cable or clear NVRAM?

Re: SCSI drives don4t spin up!??!

hi marc,

i tried to clear nvram several times, with that dip switch on position 6 on the io cage. But nothing. Installed smart start, at least 10 times, no success. removed drives and plugged back into the cage. I removed the whole cage and tried them on my workstation, and they were spinning up. They are okay while write/read testing, lowlevel format and other test. I bet it?s the onboard controller on the cpu card, so i ordered a smart array 2dh today, to get the machine online.

Thanx
Denis
