Re: SM Bus drivers, W2K3, DL140 G3
It said...
---[begin]---
Aparrently the CDs that were shipped with my DL140 G3s were intended for the
G2 series, thus the required drivers were not available.
After downloading the .iso and installing chipset_win_7.3.0.1013.exe and
vga_win32_5.93.006.7.exe everything worked correctly.
---[end]---
David,
I haven't been able to find those files available under the downloads for the DL140 G3. However, you can find the ISO image which contains those files under the "Software - Solutions" section...
http://forums.itrc.hp.com/service/forums/questionanswer.do?threadId=1070874
You will want to get the " HP ProLiant DL140 G3 Software Support CD" which is an ISO9660 CD image that you can either burn to a CD, or mount as a filesystem. These are the two files you will want..
/drivers/vga/vga_win32_5.93.006.7.exe
/drivers/chipset/chipset_win_7.3.0.1013.exe
I hope this answers your question.

Re: SM Bus drivers, W2K3, DL140 G3
Slightly confused by your response if you still have a issue.
If yes,do a windows update and install SP1 for 2k3 and also see if the video driver is listed there.

SRH, so you're telling me that by installing SP1 that the System Management Bus drivers will get installed? I haven't tried that, but regardless, I had already found the solution to my problem.
This may help clear up your confusion.
1. I posted the problem.
2. Then I replied to my own post.
3. Then david greenaway replied.
4. Then I (stupidly) deleted my reply, created a new one and quoted the reply that I had deleted. In this reply I posted the solution to my own problem.
So this situation has already been resolved. I will be sure to try your suggestion on the next server. Installing SP1 has to be done anyways and if it contains the SM Bus and Video chipset drivers, it removes two packages that would need to be installed. I will reply with my findings.
