SMART error on ML310

Hi!
I have a "little" problem:
I'm receiving from the storage agents under Win2000 a smart error on the drives at the second channel of the IDE raid controller. There are 3 x 80GB and 1 x 40 GB (2x Raid 0). I changed positions of hard drives but the smart error is only at the secondary channel (at both hard drives).

EventLog :

Compaq IDE ATA Disk Status Change. The ATA disk drive with model WDC WD1200BB-00CAA1 and serial number WD-WMA8C2605716 has a new status of 3.
(ATA disk status values: 1=other, 2=ok, 3=smartError, 4=failed)
[SNMP TRAP: 14004 in CPQIDE.MIB]

any idea?

thanx!

Re: SMART error on ML310

if the error resists after changing HDs and cables, it is possibly caused by the controller.

You should call HP-Compaq Hotline for servicing your server (open a warranty-case).

You are from germany? If yes, the tel-number is 0180-5212111

Re: SMART error on ML310

A S.M.A.R.T. (Self Monitoring, Analyzing and Reporting Technology) error means that the drive detected an error on itself but not yet critical. You need the drive to be replaced a.s.a.p.
Unfortunately, you selected RAID0 so no redundancy i.e. backup/restore.
