SPP Yum Repo: What is "current"?

Hello,

In the HPE Software Delivery Repository there is a separate Yum repository for each SPP (For example for 2019.03) and in the upper directory there is also a "current" link. So far we have assumed that "current" always points to the latest SPP (2019.03.0). However, if you look in both repositorys, you will notice that the "current" repository contains much more packages than the "2019.03.0" repository (also older packages).

What exactly is in "current"? Is it a summarized version of all SPPs?

Kind regards,
Martin

Re: SPP Yum Repo: What is "current"?

Great question mschlossarek,

"current" is an accumulator of all SPP's combined.  You'll notice it's getting rather large.   If you subscribe to "current" zypper/yum will see new packages as they become available (vs subscribing to a specific 2019.0.3 repository for example which remains static forever).

Up to now we have always synced or added each version individually. Good to know that "current" covers exactly this use case.

Thanks for the information (and sorry for the late answer).
