STOP 0X076 BSOD on DL380G3s with Win2k/SS 6.2

We've recently deployed a number of DL380G3 servers with Win2K and SS 6.2. All have experienced BSODs with Stop error 0x044 or Stop error 0x076. Some have had just the Stop 0x044, some have had just the Stop 0x076, and some have had both.

I am aware of the updated ILO driver to fix the Stop 0x044. I have deployed this to all servers who experienced the Stop 0x044.

I am at a dilemma as to how to approach the servers that have had only the Stop 0x076 errors. A Change Control to install the new ILO driver won't be approved on these servers since per HP this just fixes the 0x044.

Has anyone else seen this Stop 0x076 error on their DL380G3s or ML370G3s?

The exact error is:
The bugcheck was: 0x00000076 (0x00000000, 0x855f5020, 0xffffffff, 0x00000000).

I opened a case with HP on this but they were unable to determine the cause from the dump file.

Any advice?

Good morning Michelle,

One item that may cause this is if hyperthreading is enabled on your system. I have had unexplained system reboots when it was enabled, and none since disabling the property. To disable, enter the RBSU by pressing F9 at boot. Go to Advanced Options, Processor Hyper-threading, and Disable. Exit out and reboot.

Good Luck!

Have you tried following the procedure in Q256010? I would recommend doing this to identify the cause.
The truth is out there, but I forgot the URL..
