Sata3 6Gbps support for these old models?
I want to change my disk to 1TB 7200RPM SATA 6Gbps 128 MB Cache for my old men which are;
DL160 G6 - DL180 G6 - DL140 G3 where can I find if they support Sata3 which I feel they do not,
Do I loose much performance when I plug 6Gbps disk to 1.5Gbps even it has 128MB cache buffer. Can server sata3 support be upgraded by firmware?
New disk will have 128Mb cache buffer which sound reasonable but sata3 support will be down side.
Thanks in advance.

Re: Sata3 6Gbps support for these old models?
Hi,
Unfortunately the controllers for G6 series do not support SATA3 (6Gbps). It only supports SAS (6Gbps) disks.
You cannot get SATA3 support via a firmware upgrade.

Storage Protocol Support 6Gb/s SAS & 3Gb/s SATA
