Second CPU in DL380 G5
I am about to upgrade one of our HP servers with a second quad core CPU and have a few concerns. I have the upgrade kit - 437941-B21 which contains the CPU, PPM and heatsink, this will present no problems with the physical installation but I am not sure what needs to be done to the system to make the second CPU available.
Do I need to update the BIOS prior to install?
Will I have to reinstall the operating system?
Does Microsoft Windows 2003 standard license per core or per CPU?
Thanks in advance

Re: Second CPU in DL380 G5
Hello,
Updating BIOS is "NEEDED". You dont have to reinstall os after adding a CPU. There should be no issues at all.
