Second NC7771 NIC not recognised in Systems Management Homepage

Hello,

we have a problem with the System Management Homepage (v2.1.5.146) on a Proliant ML370 G4 server with Windows Server 2003 R2.

In addition to the on-board NIC, we have added two additional NC7771 Gigabit NICs to the server, located in PCI-X slots 1 and 2.

In the System Management Homepage, only the NIC in slot 2 is visible, the other NIC in slot 1 isn't listed.

If you click on System -> Expansion Slots, both NICs are listed, though.

Both NC7771 NICs work normally in the OS.

The Insight Management Agents version is 7.51.

What could be wrong here?

Thanks in advance!

Hello,

updating the drivers and the System Management Homepage didn't help.
Same problem as before.

Re: Second NC7771 NIC not recognised in Systems Management Homepage

Did you try also an other NC7771 in that slot or inter change the nic between slot 1 to 2 and 2 to 1 to see if can see it !

Do you have an other server like this that you can transfert hard drive to see if it software or hardware?

Re: Second NC7771 NIC not recognised in Systems Management Homepage

Hello Daniel,

I found the solution myself. Haven't thought of it in the first place...
We are not running TCP/IP on that second card, but some other proprietary protocol.
No TCP/IP -> no SNMP -> no management.
