Second VGA Card for ProLiant 6500 & 6400R
I have two servers, ProLiant 65000 and ProLiant 6400R. I would like to install a VGA card and disable the built in VGA interface.
I have tried to plug the card on the Hot-Plug PCI, the system does not recognize the card. In the back the light is Orange color, while it should be green if it is OK.
What Shall I do?

Re: Second VGA Card for ProLiant 6500 & 6400R
hi
the video card in the 6400 must be either in slot 6 or 7.
-----------------------------------------
the video card in the 6500 must in one of the two slots next to the memory board.
-----------------------------------------
reason: video card works only on the primary pci bus (bios restriction).
---------------------------------------
use the system configuration switch to disable the embedded video controller.
best regards from germany
ernesto
ps: a riloe board has the same restrictions as a video card. you cannot add a pci grafics card when a riloe is installed.
