Secondary bus busted?

The cards I have plugged in to the secondary bus on my Proliant 1600 are recognized by the device manager but will not start. I have an external case plugged into the external SCSI connector (which I assume is on the secondary bus also) in which are 2 CD drives; they run just fine.

I can't find much information on buses, other than balancing, on the Compaq site. I must be missing a basic premise here, and I admit I am ignorant, but learning about Proliant. I run Win2K on this machine with 1 400PII, at the moment. Thanks for any suggestions.

Is it possible to know as to what type of cards you are installing in the server? Have you updated the System BIOS?? Please call our technical support for further assistance.
