Good day,
I setup a ProLiant DL380 G7 on our backup site and I'm currently facing an issue trying to configure network so the virtual machines on it can get access.
I've created a VM network and connected it to the NIC that's physically connected to the router. I've connected all 10VMs to the VM network so they get access the the NIC, however the issue now is that inside the VMs it appears like the cable is unplugged, shows the usual "Network Cable Unplugged" inside my Windows Server 2008 for example.
Am I forgetting something that I need to configure for the VMs to recognize the NIC?

Re: Seeking help with DNS configuration on ProLiant DL380 G7
Hi,
your Hostname (Servername) is "localhost".
Give your Server a unique Name like "esx01".

Re: Seeking help with DNS configuration on ProLiant DL380 G7
Hi Cali,
I just edited my post because I finally figured out what was causing it, and it was as you said - just needed to fill localdomain in my instance and DNS servers were added. Now I cannot get the VMs to recognize my NIC.

SolutionWhat NIC do you choose in the VM?
E1000 order VMXNET
Choosing a network adapter for your virtual machine (1001805) (vmware.com)
If VMXNET, have you installed the VMware Tools inside WIndows?
Is the "Connect NIC at Power ON" enabled?

Re: Seeking help with network configuration on ProLiant DL380 G7
Thanks very much, for some odd reason, during the migration of the VMs the option "Connected" wasn't toggled on at all, so none of them were.
