Serial Output Log of Smart Array controller
Hi.
I have recently found some messages in a serial output log of Smart Array P212 controller in ProLiant DL380G7 which seem to be error messages. Look like:
[10/14 17:47:22]PR 9fc786b0h:D004 Op=1a PLErr=02 IopErr=04 S=02 KCQ=6:29:02
[10/14 17:51:12]PR 9fc78a48h:D004 Op=34 PLErr=02 IopErr=04 S=02 KCQ=2:3a:00
[10/14 18:16:30]PR 9fc786b0h:D004 Op=00 PLErr=02 IopErr=04 S=02 KCQ=6:28:00
[10/14 18:18:51]PR 9fc78a48h:D004 Op=08 PLErr=02 IopErr=04 S=02 KCQ=0:00:01
[10/14 18:18:51]PR 9fc78a48h:D004 Op=08 PLErr=02 IopErr=04 S=02 KCQ=8:00:05
[10/14 18:30:41]PR 9fc786b0h:D004 Op=00 PLErr=02 IopErr=04 S=02 KCQ=6:28:00
[10/14 18:31:18]PR 9fc786b0h:D004 Op=08 PLErr=02 IopErr=04 S=02 KCQ=0:00:01
[10/14 18:31:18]PR 9fc78de0h:D004 Op=08 PLErr=02 IopErr=04 S=02 KCQ=8:00:05
[10/15 12:12:38]PR 9fc786b0h:D004 Op=00 PLErr=02 IopErr=04 S=02 KCQ=6:28:00
[10/15 12:26:19]PR 9fc786b0h:D004 Op=00 PLErr=02 IopErr=04 S=02 KCQ=6:28:00
[10/15 12:26:43]PR 9fc786b0h:D004 Op=08 PLErr=02 IopErr=04 S=02 KCQ=8:00:05
Messages occur irregularly and do not coincide with any regular tasks or other events. The controller is used for connecting to external SAS tape autoloader.
I have searched google.com and hp.com sites for any reasonable patterns but found no useful information about messages in a serial output log of SA. There are only documents that instruct on how to get the contents of serial output log of Smart Array controllers, but no documents that help to interpret this log.
Do anybody know, what does these messages mean and is there any (official) documentation, which can help me to interpret/decode these messages?
Andreiy

Re: Serial Output Log of Smart Array controller
Hi,
This could be because of the following reasons:
Controller Firmware.
Storage device firmware.
Drive firmware.
Run Array Diagnostics on the controller or any similar diagnositcs for that SAS Tape Autoloader.
Thank You!

Re: Serial Output Log of Smart Array controller
Hello,
I found this info on some of the scsi errors, maybe it helps.
KCQ=6:29:02
Unit Attention - SCSI bus reset occurred
KCQ=2:3a:00
Not Ready - medium not present
KCQ=6:28:00
Unit Attention - not-ready to ready transition (format complete)
I found this info here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Key_Code_Qualifier
