Server 2008 on DL570 G2

Looking to install Server 2008 on a DL570 G2 for test purposes.

Anyone done this? Did it work okay? Anything I should look out for?

How old is that thing, exactly?

And 'DL570'?
Can't find a listing for that anywhere.
(A ML570 G2 exists, though)

Maybe you can get the 32bit version running, but you may have difficulties finding drivers for some of the HW.
Running 64bit, though...
(If you want 2008, you really want to go for the R2 release, and that's 64bit only)

Probably easier than removing it from the rack it's in, anyway...

Thanks. Just have an urgent need for a SQL2k8 test box and had this free and racked. No budget for new tin and storage is low on the VM cluster so little other short term options :(

Thinking may stick with W2K3. DBA told us that certain aspects of SQL2K8 would not work on Server 2008, but I can find nothing to back this up.

Still intertested if anyone doen the ML570 G2 Server 2K8 install though. May still need to go that way.
