Server Purchase
I am looking to purchase a used server. My question is, which of the Proliant servers can handle 3.5" hard drive SAS, and Win Server 2016?
I know a very broad question, but looking for best bang for buck.

Re: Server Purchase
Broad answer, pretty much all of them. Most models can be either 2.5 or 3.5 you just need to make sure the one you are looking at has the LFF 3.5" drive cage. For SAS drives you need to make sure the system has a 'P' series Smart Array controller. The 'B' series controllers only support SATA

Re: Server Purchase
Thank you! That is a help.
I was told by a recovery company that the 3.5" single non-array'd drive is easier to preform recovery's from. Makes sense. I hope not to have any though.
However cost wise, 3.5 vs. 2.5 high speed SAS any big difference?
Thanks Again.
