Server overheating, shutting down, but not logging a call
We have many HPE DL380/Apollo servers.
One of these servers forsome reason overheated, and shutdown.
It did not log a call though IRS. When we queried this behaviour we were informed that server overheating is not a “fault”?
Please can you clarify if this is correct, or is there some way to get the server to log a fault when this happens.
We actually picked it up, through Infosight. But it also did not notify anybody.
Any suggestions appreciated.
Kind regards
Andrew

Re: Server overheating, shutting down, but not logging a call
Hi Andrew,
Insight RS monitors hardware for hard failures from a major component on the hardware such as CPU, disk, memory, and power supply etc.., and these will trigger a service events.
please go through with below link Page# 55 for list of actionable events by IRS:
https://support.hpe.com/hpsc/doc/public/display?docId=c03508827
IRS will not log auto event for Device over heating, and shutdown.
Regards,
Vijay
