Server shut down
Proliant ML370 server (Win 2k server SP2)has shut down 3 times in the past two days. Error in event viewer shows "the driver detected a controller error on device\scsi\cpq32fs21.
Shutdowns occurred at different times of the day, with no obvious correlations. This server has been running the same software for over a year and we have not had the problem.
I have an HP DAT 24x6 on that controller; HP diagnostice show the device and connection are fine. Veritas shows that it's backing up successfully, but pauses when trying to restore. Any help is appreciated!

Re: Server shut down
Hi Cameron,
It???s appears it might be a tape&controller to your backup unit problem. Suggesting to unplug you tape for a few days and if the server does not reboots you wouild know for sure its related to controller&tape. Sugg would be to look into firmware on all components system board included and SCU upgrade and check also the scsi cable and driver for the embedded controller the cpq32fs2.sys the one giving you the error in your event viewer.
