Server will not boot

Have a Proliant 3000 with two 9.1 HD mirrored. The main drive, drive0, failed, when the secondary drive is installed into the drive0 slot the server will not boot. This drive does not have a Compaq SmartStart partition. How do we make it boot?

Hi Paul,
What error message are you getting?? You can run the system configuration utility by downloading SP19619 from our Web Site i.e. www.compaq.com. In the normal course you have to edit your Boot.ini file to be able to point to the right partition to boot. If you need assistance with Hardware then please do not contact our tech support at 1-800-ok-compaq but for Software issues you need to contact the Operating System Support.

I rebooted my server but server will not come up. I get 1 long beep and a short one with the error messages: I/O ROM error.

What can I do?
