Server will not power up

Hi,

Our new DL580 will not power up. When I plug in the power cord the power LED flashes. According to the docs this is an interlock error and I should look to the interlock LEDs inside on the mother board for an explanation. The 3rd to 6th LEDs are lit, but not the 7th. If the 7th was lit up this would mean that there is a problem with the 2nd CPU... I haven't put the 2nd CPU in yet.

Any idea what the code is?

Basic rule - if you have an apparent interlock issue, check all cards and memory in the system. Even items you didn't remove may have been loosened in shipping. If you are not sure about an item, and it's not "required" to be there to boot, try removing it. It is possible for an interlock issue to actually be something else like a bad part.

I had 2 new DL580 just like that, Compaq sent 2 Techs out for 2 days, they could not fix it, Finally Compaq sent new servers
