Service pack 6 no boot

started with SmartFart 5.0, erased the OS then ran through the install procedure. Installed NT 4.0, then when the OS comes up I install Service pack6a, then I reboot and the OS stays on the Blue boot up screen and doesn't move. Anybody have any idea?

Re: Service pack 6 no boot

Hi, once the sp6 of Microsoft is install you need to install the CSP (Compaq support pack) or the ntssd (the older name) before rebooting on the Microsoft sp6. Because Microsoft overwrites the Compaq mass storage driver and that why you want to apply our driver before the reboot. Check the following URL:

Re: Service pack 6 no boot

Thanks, Yup I figured it out. When I went to the Microsoft site to do my critical updates it says to update your Compaq array controller. The Softpack 5.50A updated the array controller and a host of other outdated drivers.
Thanks so much
