Services.exe very high cpu and memory utilization

Dear all,
We have windows 2000 server sp4, since last week we have noticed that the server is very slow to login and finally when we do logon under the task manager the services.exe shows taking up 50% cpu utilization and the memory counter is also increasing steadily. Finally after a couple of days the server is not reachable and has to be restarted. Any ideas?
We have run the spy ware and ad ware but nothing.
Thanks.

Re: Services.exe very high cpu and memory utilization

consider using process explorer to determine which services.exe instance is fouling up. that could give you a slightly better idea of where the problem lies. if it is, for instance, in the distributed link manager, you could safely disable this service and prevent your problem.

process explorer is availabe from
