Re: Set BIOS Password via Script

That would be the CONREP utility from the SmartStart Scripting Toolkit.

See the bottom of http://www.hp.com/servers/manage for a link to more information and downloads.

Re: Set BIOS Password via Script

David,

Many thanks for your reply. I've had a look through the docs and the sample conrep files but I can't see where this parameter is set. Do you happen to know which "Section Name" it should fall under?

Hi,

did you find a solution? A customer of mine has the same question.
Please post the solution if you have one.

Thanks

Re: Set BIOS Password via Script

SmartStart Scripting Toolkit download here:
http://h18000.www1.hp.com/products/servers/management/toolkit/downloadtkpage.html

Manual here:
http://bizsupport.austin.hp.com/bc/docs/support/SupportManual/c00679479/c00679479.pdf
CONREP utility in page 35

CONREP reads the state of the system environment settings to determine the configuration of the server and writes the results to a text file that can be edited by the user. The utility then uses the data in the generated script file to configure the hardware of the target server.

Re: Set BIOS Password via Script

Hi,

I'm having the exact same problem as Stephen and Paul: I would like to set the BIOS password, which can apparently be achieved with the CONREP tool. But I don't know the name of this parameter.

Does anyone know where I can find it? The docs David and vcespon posted don't mention it and the sample conrep.xml file, which is included in the SmartStart Scripting ToolKit, doesn't reveal it either.

Any help is much appreciated!

Re: Set BIOS Password via Script

Folks,

HP in the UK eventually told us this wasn't possible via conrep or indeed any other scripting utility. A solution via Radia is apparently possible for those who have access to that product. There seems to be a little gap in the HP offering there...

Cheers,

Stephen
