Set physical drive to off line
Hi,
I have a Proliant DL380 G4 with a Smart Array 6i with two disk set as array 1 + 0.
One of the disk is showing preventive failure messages so I want to replace it before it dies on me. Before doing any change, I will like to set that one drive offline so I can replace, I don't want my data get corrupted or anything.
Do you know if I need to run a command or anything on the server to have this disk set off line on the OS?
I'm running windows 2k3 R2 SP2.
I appreciate your help, thanks.

Re: Set physical drive to off line
hi,
the server is designed to do it online,
is the message "predictive failure" ?
just put the wrong disk out, and after 1 minute put the new disk in, the array controller, will take care for the remirroring of the system.
