Set up RAID ( 1+0 ) on DL380 G8 using two HDDs
Hi,
Initially, I had only one HDD with RAID 0 in HP DL380 Gen8
Then I added secondary HDD and tried to setup RAID 1+0 so that secondary HDD can be used as a backup of primary
From ACU, I did not see any option to setup 1+0 but it was showing me option to expand the RAID volume with additional disks so I did it and I was able to select RAID 1 setting on Secondary HDD ( which was not the case initially ) and after the process completion, it showed:
Logical drive 1: Capacity 931 GB
Fault Tolerance: RAID 0
Physical drive| Box2 Bay1
Capacity 931 GB
Physical drive| Box2 Bay2
Capacity 931 GB
Logical drive 2: Capacity 465 GB (Status: Degraded, Ready for rebuild)
Fault Tolerance: RAID 1/RAID 1+0
Physical drive| Box2 Bay1
Capacity 931 GB
Physical drive| Box2 Bay2
Capacity 931 GB
Also, when I tried to test the RAID setup and tried to boot from just secondary HDD, I was not able to boot from it
Did I make any mistake in RAID set up? Is there any solution for it?
Can HP experts please help me on this?
Thanks!

(This is based on my experience with the G5). Please always backup your data first. Then go to the configuration screen, and delete Logical drive#1 and Logical drive#2. Return to the menu and select to create a new logical drive. Select the two physical drives, and select to use physical drive#2 as backup, etc. Once again, Please always backup your data first.
