Setting multiple temperature thresholds
The aircon in our comms room has been unreliable of late and we no longer trust our building management to get it sorted any time soon(Don't ask, it's a very long story), anyway, I would like to know if there is a way to set the temperature thresholds for multiple servers at once, as I have been asked to investigate the feasability of staggering thresholds between critical and non critical servers, so that the non essential boxes trip out first to take some of the thermal load off of the shonky aircon and also give us more 'UPS' time, so we can gracefully shut down the critical boxes in the event of a reduction in cooling in the room.

Re: Setting multiple temperature thresholds
Hi Andy,
What model servers are you referring to ?
If I remember correctly, the thermal thresholds are set in the factory. I don't believe that there's any way of changing them.
At least I don't recall finding a way on a few DL380 G3/G4s when I was in a very similar aircon situation to yourself...
Hope this helps,
Regards,
Rob
