Several DL/BL servers with Average Temp of 253 degrees

Hi

We have several DL/BLc servers that display 253 degrees C as their average temperature in our remote monitoring tool.

Has anyone else seen this issue?

Is it hardware or firmware?

It may be possible that it could be a combination of firmware and management agents update.

The following steps may be performed on a couple of server and then implemented across the whole lot:

  1. Backup the IML logs and clear them.
  2. Then update the server’s BIOS and ILO firmware respectively. For a Blade server use the SPP module to update the firmware using the latest available bladesystem pack.
  3. Then update the Insight Management Agents and check if the issue is resolved.

If the issue is resolved, then roll it out to other servers.
